17 Mar Put a Nose On It on Friday 24th March
Bake Cakes. Buy Noses. Wear Red. Change Lives.
This year we are really excited to be raising money for Red Nose Day 2017! As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Red Nose Day brings the entire nation together to do something funny for money.
During the day we can look forward to dancing, creating delicious recipes, eating red lunches, singing Red Nose Day songs and themed art and craft activities in class. Please come to school wearing red clothes on the day. You could wear a red party outfit, red fancy dress or even red pyjamas but please do wear red! Red Noses can also be worn on the day which can be purchased for £1 from the school office.
At the end of the day, we will be hosting a huge ‘Put a Nose On It Bake Off’ for which we are asking families and staff to bake and buy delicious cakes. What a finale! We are proud to be an allergy friendly school. Please ensure the cakes and biscuits you make do not contain nuts or sesame seeds or products that contain these items.
We will also be using Red Nose Day as a learning opportunity to help our children explore the issues facing young people across the world. The money we raise will help people living both in the UK and across Africa. For example, £2.50 could buy a mosquito net to protect a family in Africa. In the UK, £5 could pay for an isolated elderly person with dementia to have dinner with their local support group. If you are able to offer £1 or any amount, the teachers will be collecting donations on the day.
We really appreciate your support and hope that you’ll have fun helping our school raise awareness and money for Red Nose Day. For more information do visit www.rednoseday.com
